PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Coming to Xbox One Next Month

The promise of a release of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One has been keeping fans guessing as to when it would arrive. Microsoft has now revealed that it will be available on the console as part of the Game Preview program on December 12th.

The competitive shooter sees 100 players dropping into a map, where they go on to loot for weapons and armor before battling it out on a shrinking environment in a battle royale experience. The game released on Steam Early Access earlier this year on Steam, and has been in beta ever since. Since then, it has sold over eight million copies, and went on to overtake Dota to become the most played game in August, attracting over 800,000 simultaneous player, before reaching even further milestones with their concurrent players.

In addition, Microsoft also confirmed that they will be bringing Xbox exclusive cosmetic packs, though they will only be limited-time only, since “there are no plans to feature any in-game purchases in the Xbox Game Preview version.”

As for the PS4 release, there is still no news on when it will arrive. Rather ironically, Microsoft used the Paris Games Week event to announce the news, which is usually predominantly used by Sony to announce games. PC players can also expect the 1.0 version of PUBG sometime in late December.
