PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is Performing Well on Xbox One

It’s certainly the talk of the town at the moment as far as Xbox fans are concerned, as the highly anticipated PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has finally arrived on the Xbox One Preview program. Having previously sold over 24 million copies on PC, the arrival of PUBG on console makes it one of the hottest games of the year as 2017 comes to a close.

Players take on 99 other players in a fight to the death on an island in order to be the last one standing. You’ll be tasked with finding equipment and survive in the shrinking environment in order to emerge victorious.

Understandably, first impressions weren’t all positive for the game on the Preview program. There were issues with frame drops and failing audio in the pre-match lobbies and when landing the parachute, but apart from that, and taking into consideration where the game is in development, it is proving to be a positive experience on Xbox One.

The frame rates have remained pretty consistent throughout, which is a massive plus, particularly on Xbox One S and Xbox One X. Despite it not reaching to heights of 60fps as it does on PC, it doesn’t suffer from the dips in quality that PUBG is becoming renowned for on that particular platform. Shootouts in particular shine through, with a lot of emphasis being on relying on frame rates to remain steady in situations such as these, so that too is a huge bonus for this version.
