Rare Addressing Sea of Thieves Problems

Rare really seem to care about their player base as they are working as hard and fast as possible to fix any issues that the players have with the game. Last time we talked about Sea of Thieves was when a new patch arrived, that also fixed certain problems with the game like ships spawning too close the people that sank it. They have commented on other issues that the players have been reporting, how they plan to solve them, and how long it will take.

What problems are they tackling? First of all, there’s the issue of spawn killing. See, if your enemy is close to your spawn point, you end up in a constant loop of die-respawn-get killed again, and that’s really annoying to deal with. Rare thinks that more players should use the Scuttle option to avoid these types of situations (which makes your ship sink and transported to a random outpost in the world, and a mermaid appears nearby that can take you to it). They are also considering moving your ships to other worlds if you find yourself in a griefing situation, but this is a much more complicated change, so they are still not certain if that is the best solution.

Since Sea of Thieves is a multiplayer game, there are bound to be cheaters. A few reports of cheating have been made, and Rare is determined to give out harsh punishments to cheaters and hackers, and those include permanent Xbox Live account bans. Once a person is identified as someone who uses cheats or hacks, they will swiftly be dealt with. Lastly, the developers touched upon the game’s upcoming content. A lot of people say that Sea of Thieves needs more content, and that is definitely true, but Rare wants to ensure people that when they have planned out everything, they will let us know, as they are still adjusting their roadmap, and once they have a sure plan on how to further expand on the game, they will let us know.
