Red Dead Redemption 2 Dominates PS4 Downloads In November

When a game is highly anticipated, it often means that the sales of the game are going to be rather large from the getgo, but, just because you start off with hot sales, doesn’t mean that it’ll continue once the hype has faded. For Red Dead Redemption 2, players have been waiting for 8 years to get their hands on this sequel. And between the hype and the gorgeous trailers, we knew that it would sell. The only question was, how much would it sell?

Well, within the first two weeks, the game has sold 17 million units, outpacing the lifetime sales of the original Red Dead Redemption, and now, Sony has revealed that throughout the month of November, Red Dead Redemption 2 was the most downloaded title on their store. Here is the list they gave:

  1. Red Dead Redemption 2
  2. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
  3. Fallout 76
  4. Battlefield V
  5. FIFA 19
  6. Spyro Reignited Trilogy
  7. God of War
  8. NBA 2K19
  9. Marvel’s Spider-Man
  10. The Last of Us Remastered

Red Dead Redemption

There’s a lot of interesting things to note about this list outside of Red Dead topping the list. Not the least of which is that it topped it despite games like Fallout 76 and Battlefield V releasing well after the release of the title, yet neither being able to top it. Then, you got games like God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man, which continue to sell well even though their releases were months ago, especially for God of War.

The Last Of Us Remastered getting the No.10 slot is interesting for sure, especially because that game has been out for years. But, with all the new PS4 owners that have been coming, it’s not improbable to think that they wanted to play the game that everyone was telling them about.

Either way, it was an interesting November, and seeing as December doesn’t have any big PS4 releases, Red Dead Redemption 2 could top the downloads list once more.
