Red Dead Redemption 2 Put People To Sleep?

There are many highly anticipated games coming out this year. But one has been asked for by gamers for many years, and only now is it coming: Red Dead Redemption 2. Though a prequel to the original game that won over fans and critics alike, Red Dead Redemption 2 is aiming to be something truly special inside and out. And trailer have got players excited. But…a demo at a recent game conference had the opposite effect apparently. It actually put them to sleep.

This happened at the 2018 GME Conference in Indianapolis. Rockstar Games arrived on scene and dropped a 20-minute demo of Red Dead Redemption 2 for players to watch. And one GameStop employee posted on Instagram (before deleting it) that it wasn’t very exciting. This continued of Reddit, where numerous comments showed that the game had a good look, but the demo was badly cut:

“Beautiful game, but mostly just saw horse riding simulator. Very difficult to stay awake…” reads one comment. Another reads, “There was a shoot out after a bank heist but before the heist we saw 15 minutes of meandering through some woods and some plucky guitar playing” …… “Shootout looked decent, the bank heist was slowly paced. The game will be great and sell like mad but the demo they showed was really dry.”

Red Dead Redemption 2

That being said, there may be a very logical explanation for why the response was really bad. This demo came at the end of the conference, which had been going on all week as one person noted:

“To give a little context, everyone was exhausted from the week and it’s the last thing they showed us. nodded [off] for a minute but the game is beautiful. The world looks so meticulously constructed and the demo was a flawless example of the mechanics, world, and physics the game has to offer. I didn’t play the first one and had zero excitement for the game going into it but came out stoked on getting it.”

There’s no doubt that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be a hit when it comes out on October 26th, and there will be no doubt that gamers will be rested by then.
