Spider-Man Easter Egg Talks About Miles Morales

For the longest time, when you said “Spider-Man”, only one name would come to your head, and that was Peter Parker. After all, he is the original wearer of the mask and costume, and has been in our lives for decades. But then, when Marvel made the Ultimate Universe and killed Peter in the comics, they made a new Spider-Man, and his name was Miles Morales. Written by Brian Michael Bendis, he became a big hit with readers, and lives in the comics to this day.

So, when the Spider-Man video game was revealed by Insomniac, and Miles was confirmed to be in it, fans went nuts. But the question then arose, how much is he in the game? While that part hasn’t been elaborated on yet, at Sony’s booth at E3, they handed out an issue of the Daily Bugle (the newspaper from the world), and it had an article on Miles Morales.

Ironically, the newspaper article was written by Mary Jane Watson, a longtime friend and love interest/girlfriend/wife to Peter Parker in the comics. She wrote this about Miles:

“But all eyes ended up on Midtown High School’s team, whose bot neither tied shoelaces into ‘bunny ears’ nor released pickle jars from the tight grip of their caps. Instead, the team walked away with top honors for a motion-detecting robot deployed at their own high school.

“This is the first win for Midtown since Peter Parker claimed the yet-to-be renamed Wilson Fisk Science Prize over seven years ago.”

So apparently, Miles is a bit of a tech genius here, and many are speculating that it will be his gifts with tech that’ll allow him to help Peter in the game. Which would be good because the recent trailer showed that the Sinister Six is coming for him in the title.

Spider-Man arrives on September 7th on PS4.
