TES: Legends Only Coming On Systems That Have Crossplay

Developers need to understand that crossplay is the future of gaming. Bethesda, thankfully, understands this, and they said that TES: Legends is only coming on systems that support crossplay.

It’s nice to see that there are developers out there that don’t support community segregation. In an interview with GameInformer, Pete Hines stated that they want everyone to play together. Doesn’t matter if you’re playing on the consoles or on the PC, everyone can go into the game and face a player from another platform. You can queue up against people that aren’t playing on the same platform as you, and that’s fine. This is a card game, there are no better controls there or better framerate here.

If only all developers shared the same opinion on this topic. Pete was very specific, and he said that The Elder Scrolls: Legends would only come out on systems that support crossplay. In a way, is he saying that the game won’t launch on PlayStation 4? We already know that Sony isn’t too fond of the crossplay thing, so could this mean that TES: Legends won’t be available on the PS4. It is likely, but we still have to wait and see. Who knows, maybe Sony changes their mind about the whole crossplay thing.

We all remember when Todd Howard said that the company wants crossplay in Fallout 76, but Sony wasn’t being too helpful. This could be connected to that, so the pressure on Sony has been increased.
