Uncharted Team React To Nathan Fillion Short Film

When it comes to fans, they’re always up for making new content featuring their favorite TV shows, cartoons, movies, and yes, video games. Sometimes it’s just making some cool pieces of art, or taking game models and doing a special cutscene with another character. And other times, they go full-tilt and make a full-on short movie about their favorite universe. Such is the case with Uncharted, which had a fan film made by Allan Unger which starred Nathan Fillion, Stephen Lang, and more. And people loved it.

With hours of its release, most news sites (including HRK) reported the film, and noted how delightful it was. Though only 15 minutes long, it showed how Fillion is perfect for the role of Nathan Drake, and how he deserves to be in a full-length feature. But a question many fans had was, “what did Naughty Dog think?”

Uncharted

Well, some of the team from Naughty Dog revealed their thoughts on it, including former director of the first three titles Amy Hennig:

You guys did a fantastic job, Allan! Warms these old cockles to see our baby brought to life like this. Never could’ve imagined it, when we set off on this journey 13+ years ago. Thank you!

Other members of the team chimed in too to praise the game. But most interesting of all though might be Shawn Levy, who is actually the director of the upcoming full-length Uncharted film. He noted this to Bad Taste:

“Oh my God!” Levy exclaimed, “Yes, absolutely a surprise! I found it direct very well, played just as well. Very funny. I liked it both as a fan of the game and of the franchise.”

So it’s clear to us here that the fan film is a major hit. And it’s already gotten 3.6 million views on Youtube. So hopefully this won’t be the last time we see that team doing something for Nathan Drake.
