Bioware Admits That Anthem In Their Biggest Title Ever

It’s one thing to make a video game and make it good, that’s hard enough on its own. But when you make a massive title full of content? That requires a great deal of skill, not to mention a large team. Not everyone can pull it off. Bioware though is one of the few developers that you could say can pull it off. Despite the backlash of Mass Effect Andromeda in terms of quality, there was no doubt that it was an expansive game, as was the original trilogy and the Dragon Age games. And now, Anthem is coming.

Anthem is a brand new IP for the developer, and though it got delayed to 2019, many are excited for it is going to be like. There are customizable suits of futuristic armor, and expansive world, new ways to interact with people, and more. And, as Bioware noted in an interview with Game Informer, this is actually going to be their biggest game ever:

“It’s definitely scary. This is the biggest thing that we’ve done,” Mark Darrah told Game Informer. “This is the biggest team we’ve ever had, so this … yeah, it’s scary, for sure.”

Anthem

Now, as noted previously, Bioware had a bit of a problem with Mass Effect: Andromeda. The game wasn’t anywhere near the technical and visual quality that players have known the developer for. And now, with Anthem being bigger than ANY of the Mass Effect games, gamers are wondering if they can handle this. The team responded thus:

“It’s about focus. It’s about focus, it’s about having the right plan early enough, it’s about making sure that you know what you’re trying to build,” Mike Gamble said. “We are focusing on a great cooperative experience. We’re focusing on telling a story in a private hub. By doing that and creating focus, you can drive to excellence.”

We’ll have to see how that “focus” comes into play when Anthem arrives next year.
