Days Gone Delayed Once Again By Sony

Without a doubt, Sony has had one of the best gaming years in recent memory. From starting off with major 3rd party hits like Monster Hunter World and Dragon Ball FighterZ, to releasing exclusives like Shadow of the Colossus Remastered, God of War, and the recent Spider-Man, they’ve come out trumps more times than not. However, one game that was supposed to come out this year, and is now planned for next year, has just gotten another delay…Days Gone.

If you don’t recall. Days Gone is an open-world zombie game with a few twists on the zombie action. The game was revealed years ago, but since then, it’s only had a few gameplay trailers or reveals, and now, on the PlayStation Blog, Asad Qizilbash (Vice-President of Marketing) notes that it’s being pushed back once again:

We want to share a change in release date for this highly anticipated title from Bend Studio. We recently decided to move the release of Days Gone from the crowded February timeframe to April 26, 2019. While the studio is eager to see Days Gone in the hands of fans, Bend Studio will take the opportunity to further polish Days Gone.

Though this will be disappointing to those who have wanted to get the game sooner rather than later, you can understand Sony’s position on this. First, he is right, both February and March are a bit crowded in the games market, as many AAA titles are releasing then. And there’s nothing worse than for a new IP to go up against established properties and likely not get the sales it could because of it. Plus, if the game needs more polish, it should take the time to polish it.

No doubt Sony will keep gamers updated on how things go for the title, and hopefully, this will be the last delay that the game gets.
