Fortnite Seeing Rare Downturn?

One of the most ironic things about the rise of Fortnite is that this most definitely wasn’t something that was planned. The true original game was announced years ago, and when it launched in its true original format, it wasn’t met with a lot of hoopla. It wasn’t bad, mind you, but it wasn’t the “next big thing”. That came when they added a battle royale mode. Then, when PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds started to falter, they took over. Well now, some feel that this is happening to Fortnite.

What’s the cause for this belief? Well, website SeekingAlpha looked at recent trends with the launch of the games Season 06 and noted the following:

Twitter mentions (an indicator of daily payers and bookings) are declining for the first time on a season launch day, TickerTags says — 37% lower than for season 5, 29% lower than season 4 and 13% lower than for season 3.

So it’s clear that for one reason or another, gamers haven’t responded to Season 06 as much as Epic Games would like.

But, what does this mean in the long run? Is Fortnite on a doomed path that will mimic PUBG? Well…maybe not, because that seem website noted that gamers are looking forward to certain releases that are about to come out. Including Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Super Mario Party, Call of Duty Black Ops 4, Red Dead Redemption 2, and more.

So this may not be that gamers are going back to the Epic Games title, but rather, they’re limiting how much they’re playing video games right now so that when these new titles arrive they can focus solely on them and not the game that they’ve probably been playing for months.

And it also should be noted that the reason PUBG fell was because it continued to have nagging bugs that the devs weren’t fixing fast enough. Epic Games doesn’t have that problem with Fortnite.
