Fortnite To Come Into FIFA?

Fortnite has been doing an amazing job this year of building itself up into the premier battle royale game. While the start of the year was rather slow, with each passing month it’s getting bigger and better with more players, and more content. But the love of the game has transcended into the real world, as well as other games and properties. And now, some are thinking that another game franchise could get something from it, FIFA.

Now at first, this may seem like an odd combination, but the question here is really “what would be brought over?” And the answer is emote dances. These dances done by player characters when celebrating something has been a crazy in the real world as of late, including the soccer world. So, could Fornite emotes come to FIFA? Well, in an interview with Okay, Cool, Creative Director Matt Prior had this to say about the game:

“We’re player first and authenticity first. If you’re seeing it in the real world, we would ideally like to see it in the game, said Prior. “’It’s in the game’. You know, that whole thing.”

So this seems like a ringing endorsement for a collaboration of sorts. However, there is one big hurdle that is preventing this from happening.

“There might be licensing issues around them, but we are always looking at the real world of football and trying to replicate it as much as possible.”

He brings up an interesting point. For if the game created the dance move that’s being used in another game, then that’s technically infringing on their copyright. Prior noted that he isn’t sure which ones are licensed and which aren’t, so this could very well be a process if it really is coming to the game.

Still, it would be cool to see, right?
