YouTuber Thankrek has taken Rocket League away from the field and into the immensely popular Mario Kart series with a brand new mod.
You could probably guess the name of the mod, with it being appropriately titled Rocket Kart.
This mod gives players the rare chance to take in 10 iconic Mario Kart tracks using the battle cars from Psyonix’s indie smash hit. Take your vehicles across the likes of Rainbow Road, Yoshi’s Island and Luigi Circuit thanks to this mod, for however long it lasts anyway. Players are able to use the items and mechanics that are available to them in Rocket League, including the use of unlimited boost to whiz around the track in a combined mix of the two games.
If you are interested in checking out this mod, you shouldn’t hang around. It is bound to be picked up by Nintendo at some point and unfortunately be taken down. With Nintendo ordering a DMCA takedown on a mod of Mario 64 Online last month, this one is bound to suffer the same fate.
Given that the mod uses assets from the Mario Kart games, and is asking fans of the mod to offer donations in order to keep it going, which certainly isn’t going to sit well with Nintendo whatsoever.
