Overwatch is a game that features a lot of personality. In fact, you could say that this is the backbone of the game in many ways. As the game itself is a multiplayer shooter and thus doesn’t have a deep story. Instead, the story honestly comes from the characters themselves, and Blizzard has found many ways to invoke those personalities. There’s dialogue, there’s comics, but one of the easiest ways though is through the victory poses that the game gives players.
These simple yet effective things are what the characters do if a battle is one, and they again show off who the character is. During the recent arrival of the Winter Wonderland update, a slew of new victory poses was shown off for a variety of characters. However, when the update arrived, players noticed that two of the poses shown in the marketing for it wasn’t there. Mainly, one for Sombra and one for Bastion.
Well, fans asked Blizzard about it, and they responded in kind on Battle.net.
So, as an extra-special treat, we’re going to grant both of these poses to all of our players, regardless of whether or not they logged into Overwatch during the Winter Wonderland event and earned or purchased Winter Loot Boxes,” say community manager Josh Engen.
So, as you can see, you’ll be getting the poses free-of-charge with no expectations or requirements needed. It’s a nice touch. Now, to be clear, the poses themselves aren’t coming just yet. Both Bastion’s and Sombra’s are going to the PTR right now for some testing. But, once it’s all done, the skins will come to all players in January at some point.
In the meantime, you should enjoy the Winter Wonderland event while it lasts. For with new skins and a new gameplay mode, it’s a ton of fun.
