Anthem Feedback Prompting Bigger Sales From EA?

For companies like EA, they have to show their investors and stockholders what they feel they are going to make in the next few months or even a whole year via projections. These projects are based upon the games that they have out, games that are coming out soon, and games that are coming out in the somewhat distant future. For EA, via their company Bioware, they’re looking towards a big 2019, and the reason for that is Anthem. But apparently, they’re expecting even more from it now.

What do we mean by that? Well, during an earnings call, CEO Andrew Wilson noted that they have increased projections on how much they expect to make in the last quarter of the 2018 fiscal year. And the reason for this is all the positive buzz around Anthem.

“Looking ahead, our focus continues to be on connecting more players to more great experiences. On February 22, BioWare will launch their stunning and ambitious shared-world game, Anthem. The team has done an outstanding job executing against their vision for a game with amazing levels of complexity, scale, and innovation.”

Anthem

Now, you might be wondering, how is a game that isn’t coming out until 2019 getting all of this hype? Well, EA and Bioware have been doing a good job showing off the game, its world, and answering a lot of questions that people have had about it. As such, Anthem has gotten a lot of accolades:

“Anthem has won more than 90 awards, including recognition as one of the most anticipated games of the year, and player feedback continues to be highly positive through our pre-launch testing. We can’t wait to see this game come alive for fans at launch and through the long-term live services to come.”

So EA clearly thinks that the game will do well. How well exactly? Only the launch can reveal that.
