Dragon Ball FighterZ Beta Gets Roster, Stages, and Modes Details

Dragon Ball FighterZ is one of the major titles that will be kicking off 2018 in style. The fighting game will bring characters from the three major versions of the Dragon Ball anime (we don’t include GT!) into a stylish and high-intensity fighting game made by Arc Systems. But, if you’re wanting to get your fix before the main release, you’re in luck, the PS4 an Xbox One will be getting a beta that’ll have surprising depth. Today, Bandai Namco revealed many details about it.

First up, the beta will feature 11 characters for you to play around with. They will be: Nappa, Vegeta (Super Saiyan form), Goku (Super Saiyan form), Piccolo, Krillin, Cell, Android 18, Frieza, Beerus, Kid Buu, and Gohan (adult form). That’s quite a lineup, and one that will show the diverse nature of the fighters no doubt. The fun part will be not just trying the characters, but seeing which ones match your personal play style.

Next up, where are you going to be able to fight in the beta? Well, the stages have been revealed to be Planet Namek, World Tournament Arena, West City, Volcano, Wasteland, Cell Games Arena, and Rocky Field.

So again, pretty diverse for a beta. Finally, the game’s beta will have plenty of modes for you to test out. There’s “World Match”, which is one of the main fighting modes in the game. Here, you can battle against players from around the world, but you can do it in either a “casual” match, meaning just to see who wins, or a “Ranked Match”, which will help put you on a leaderboard to see who the best fighter in the world is.

There’s also going to be a tutorial mode, a Replay Channel, a way to customize your avatar, looks at the “Dramatic Scenes” of the game, and more.

The beta starts on January 13th and 14th depending on how you enter it. Dragon Ball FighterZ arrives on January 26th. If you’re looking for another Dragon Ball game to spend your time with, try out Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2!
