Dragon Ball FighterZ Launch Trailer Has Arrived

It’s interesting to look back at last year and realize that about six months ago we didn’t even have a notion that Dragon Ball FighterZ was being made. The game showed up at the Microsoft Press Conference at E3 2017, and surprised everyone with its looks and intensity. Then, as time went on, details began to emerge that got fans more and more excited. And now, over six months later, the game is just days away from release. And as such, the launch trailer for the title has arrived, check it out:

This trailer is significant for many reasons. First off, it starts with the Goku saying something in English. All previous trailers that featured dialogue only had Japanese in them. And yes, that is the original voice of Goku, and some of the other characters we hear from in the trailer have their anime voices as well. That in and of itself makes the trailer really cool.

But more than that, the trailer shows off the variety of the roster, and gives everyone their due, including “lower tier” characters like Tien, Krillin, Yamcha, and more.

Dragon Ball FIghterZ

It’s very impressive, and it’s clear that Arc Systems made the game with the intent that every character could beat the other if the player is smart enough in how to use them, and that makes it exciting.

Another key thing is we get more looks at the storyline via the newly created character Android 21 (who was made by Dragon Ball series creator Akira Toriyama), who confirms her transformation into a Majin Buu-like character here in the trailer. And yeah, it’s intimidating.

Finally, the trailer acknowledges all the praise Dragon Ball FighterZ has been getting, and for good reason, between fans and critics, people love just about everything in the game, and early released reviews point to this being one of the best Dragon Ball games ever made.

You’ll find out for yourself when it launches on January 26th.
